Watch Thursday: Joy to the World with Landau Eugene Murphy Jr.

Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. sings some holiday favorites, old and new, this Thursday, Dec. 21 at 8pm on WVPB radio and TV networks.

Join us Thursday, December 21 at 8p.m. for the premiere of Bob Thompson's "Joy to the World" featuring special guest vocalist Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. The program can be seen on television and heard on the radio networks of West Virginia Public Broadcasting.

You'll hear jazz renditions of some holiday favorites and have your spirits lifted by the big band sound when the horn section takes the stage.


Landau puts his take on "White Christmas," "Santa Claus is Coming To Town," and "Let It Snow." He also performs two new songs, "Quiet Christmas" and "Chirstmas Made for Two,"  from his holiday release "Christmas Made for Two."

Pianist and long time Bob Thompson Band member Tim Courts is on piano, Doug Payne on saxophone, Ryan Kennedy on guitar, John Inghram on bass and Brandon Willard on drums. Alongside Murphy we also feature pianist Duane Flesher and a three-piece horn section featuring Martin Saunders on trumpet, Rick Tolbert on trombone and Marty Ojeda on saxophone.
