Flood Response Stalled in Some Counties as Some Areas Remain Impassable

wvm_logo_0.png

Dave Mistich and John Cantees provide an update as a state of emergency remains in place for 44 of West Virginia's 55 counties after heavy rainfall has devastated pockets of the state.

Flooding, downed trees and other emergency situations have stalled response in some counties.

A search continues in Jackson county after a male toddler was swept away by swift rising water Thursday afternoon and the city of Richwood remains impassable.

Water rescues have been reported across the state.

A native of Washington, West Virginia, Dave Mistich joined West Virginia Public Broadcasting in October of 2012, as the Charleston Reporter.
