West Virginia University released preliminary plans Wednesday, June 3, detailing what the fall and spring semesters will look like as a result of the continued COVID-19 pandemic.
Students will return to campus and in-person classes will resume for WVU’s fall semester; however, it will look a bit different than pre-coronavirus.
Most classes will be at 50 percent capacity, all people on campus will be required to wear a mask, plexi-glass lecterns will be implemented, and spring and fall break will be cancelled, according to WVU’s “Return To Campus” plan. Additionally, all staff, faculty and students will be tested for COVID-19 prior to the start of the fall semester.
WVU President Gordon Gee wrote in a recent letter to the community that “personal accountability” will be key to keeping infection numbers low.
The return to campus plan is developing, with many details yet to be released. People will have the opportunity to ask questions during weekly virtual sessions throughout this summer. The first is pre-taped and will be posted June 4.
