First-Ever W.Va. Agricultural Technology Showcase in Moorefield
On Friday and Saturday, the Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College in Moorefield will host the first Ag Tech Showcase event in the state.
The goal of the new showcase is to explore the benefits new and emerging technologies could offer small and medium-sized farms.
Walt Helmick, West Virginia’s Commissioner of Agriculture will also be at the event, but the keynote speaker is Menahem Hesse, Minister for Agriculture and Science Affairs at the Embassy of Israel in Washington, D.C.
Minister Hesse is expected to discuss how West Virginia farmers and consumers might benefit from lessons learned from Israel’s Ag tech innovations. Israel has achieved globally-recognized gains in produce crop yields and quality.
The two-day event will offer expert speakers, panel discussions, and live demonstrations of the latest Ag tech innovations, including workshops looking at the use of agricultural drones, 3D printing, and more.
The showcase will be held at the West Virginia Army National Guard Armory in Moorefield.
