Starett's Well Service has been acquired by Basin Energy Group.

Bridgeport-based Basin Energy says in a news release that Starett's is a specialty roustabout services firm focusing on well site and midstream natural gas infrastructure in the Marcellus and Utica Shale regions.

Joe Starett and his wife, Gina Starett, founded the company, which began operations in Jane Lew in 2002.

Basin Energy says Joe Starett will continue to lead the company's day-to-day operations. He also will focus on new business development.

Starett is Basin Energy's second subsidiary. The other is ProActive Services, LLC, which provides services and solutions to the midstream segment of the natural gas industry.

Basin Energy acts as a holding company for its subsidiaries.
