Marshall University’s presidential search committee plans to interview six new candidates in September.

Marshall Board of Governors chairman Michael G. Sellards says the candidates were identified by consultants with AGB Search Inc. He didn’t identify the candidates.

The committee interviewed six other candidates in May but decided to continue the search.

Sellards says the new candidates will be interviewed off campus next month. Following those interviews, Sellards says the committee expects to choose three or four candidates to bring to the campus in October.

Sellards says he expects Marshall to have a new president in time for the start of the spring semester.

Gary White was appointed as interim president on Dec. 29, 2014, following the death of President Stephen Kopp on Dec. 17, 2014.
