West Virginia prosecutor says the fatal police shooting of a man in Brooke County was a justified use of force.

Brooke County prosecutor Joe Barki told news outlets that Clifton Daniel Reintzel charged at an officer with two knives. He says officers had ordered Reintzel to stop and drop the knives.

Barki says law enforcement officers from the Brooke County Sheriff’s Department and West Virginia State Police were responding to a domestic violence call on March 13 at a home in Follansbee when Reintzel confronted them.

The races of those involved were not immediately known.
