McDowell County Lawmaker Pleads No Contest to DUI

Delegate Clif Moore

A McDowell County lawmaker has been fined $100 after pleading no contest to a drunken driving charge.

The Bluefield Daily Telegraph reports that Delegate Clif Moore entered his plea on Tuesday to non-aggravated driving under the influence. He was fined and sentenced to time served.

State police arrested the McDowell County Democrat in March 2014 during a traffic stop on U.S. 52 on Elkhorn Mountain. Senior Trooper B.D. Gillespie wrote in an incident report that Moore’s vehicle was swerving and crossing the center lines several times.

Moore had been charged with DUI in Columbus, Ohio, in 2011. He received a six-day sentence in that case.
