A new music festival featuring local and national talent is coming to Huntington next summer.

The Jewel City Jamboree will run Friday through Sunday, June 5-7 at Harris Riverfront Park. The festival will feature a mix of nationally traveling bluegrass acts such as The Rambling Rooks and Larry Cordle and Lonesome Standard Time and will also feature local acts like Mystic Mountain Blueberry and Big Rock.

The festival continues a string of events and activities to return to Harris Riverfront Park recently. Events like the Huntington Classic Regatta, powerboat races and the Huntington Symphony Orchestra’s Picnic with the Pops concert series have returned.

A similar-themed music festival, the Appalachian Uprising in Scottown, Ohio, served as the inspiration for the Jewel City Jamboree. The Appalachian Uprising had a successful run from 2002-2014.
