W.Va. Agriculture Statisics Available On Line
From corn to cows, a compendium of all things agricultural in West Virginia is now available online.
The Annual Bulletin of the West Virginia Agricultural Statistic Service is the source. It reveals that the state is ninth in the U.S. in terms of apple production and that the number of beef cattle in the state total 380,000.
One more: Jefferson County grows the most corn in the state - with over one and a half million bushels last year.
The bulletin gathers agriculture statistics from surveys conducted throughout the year. The in-depth collection of data is published every five years.
To access the data, go to http://www.nass.usda.gov/Statistics-by-State/West-Virginia/index.asp and click under "West Virginia Publications" and then select "Annual Statistical Bulletin" to view.
