W.Va. Bird Hunting Seasons Begin Sept. 1

West Virginia’s hunting seasons for Canada goose and other birds will open Sept. 1.

The Division of Natural Resources says the early Canada goose season will run through Sept. 13.

Hunting seasons for sora and Virginia rails will run through Nov. 8. The common snipe season will end on Dec. 13.

The mourning dove season is split into three segments. The first segment will run through Oct. 18. The second segment opens Nov. 3 and continues through Nov. 22. The final segment begins Dec. 22 and ends on Jan. 10, 2015.

The woodcock season opens Oct. 18 and ends on Dec. 1.
