Community Health Systems of Beckley is one of 60 clinics across the country that will share more than 80 million dollars in Affordable Care Act money.

The rural clinic  will receive a $1.65 million grant to help train primary care providers.

The money is part of the Teaching Health Care Program which aims to train physicians in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, geriatrics, and general dentistry.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Matthews Burwell announced the awards in a news release Monday.

The release says the money will be used to train more than 500 medical residents across the nation during the next academic year.
