W.Va. Higher Ed Panel Considers Tuition Increases
The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission is considering tuition and fee increases proposed by public universities and colleges across the state.
Commission members are scheduled to vote on the increases at their meeting Monday in Charleston.
The commission's staff says public universities and colleges face a 2.6 percent reduction in state appropriations for the fiscal year that begins July 1 as costs increase.
Commission members also will vote on the schools' capital budgets and review their operational budgets for the next fiscal year.
