PSC Conducting Inspections of Commercial Vehicles
The Public Service Commission is conducting a three-day safety check of commercial vehicles on West Virginia highways.
The PSC's Transportation Enforcement Division began the inspections Tuesday morning. The initiative continues through Thursday.
According to the commission, inspectors focus on brake system maintenance, safe transportation of hazardous materials and preventing driver fatigue by checking drivers' hours of service.
The PSC conducts the inspections annually. Last year, 112 of the 632 commercial vehicles inspected were deemed unsafe and were parked until improvements could be made.
