Concord University Officially Launches Search for New Leader


Concord University is looking for a new leader. The Presidential Search Committee has officially launched the search for the University’s 12th President. 

Concord University is looking for a creative, energetic leader to continue academic excellence, quality campus life, and community service, according to a recent job posting.

The search committee and Board of Governors recently approved the  advertisement.

Alumnus and Charleston-based  Jackson and Kelly attorney David Barnette, was elected to chair that committee. He is also a member of Concord’s Board of Governors. Dr. Paul Hill, Chancellor of the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, will also serve on the committee among others.

The committee is accepting applications and nominations through Jan. 15. Initial interviews are expected in February. The university plans to host a public forum with the finalists between mid-March and early April 2014.

Dr. Gregory Aloia served as Concord’s 10th President and resigned in Spring of this year to accept the position of President of the College of Coastal Georgia.

Dr. Kendra Boggess, former Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of Business, is currently serving as Interim President.
