Mountain Stage will resume its 38th season of live performance radio on Sunday, June 13, with guest host Kathy Mattea, artists Paul Thorn, Amythyst Kiah and John Ellison at the Culture Center Theater in Charleston, West Virginia. For the first time since February of 2020, a limited in-person audience will be allowed.

Anna Jarvis grew up in Grafton, West Virginia in the late 1800s. She was one of 11 children but one of just four of the children who lived to adulthood. As the oldest daughter, she shared a close bond with her mother. Anna often wrote her mother letters and took care of her as she developed heart conditions. She died in 1905.Her mother’s death led Jarvis to devote her life to the holiday now recognized as International Mother’s Day.
Dwayne Richardson, Jr., a junior at Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley was the recent victim of an accidental shooting death. Beckley Police say Richardson was killed Sunday by a 20 year old who was careless with an AR-15 rifle.
