WVSU Plans Earth Day Activities

West Virginia State University has a full day of activities planned for its Earth Day celebration on April 25.

The university says the celebration starts at 9:30 a.m. and is to include presentations, movie screenings and exhibitors, including electric cars on display in front of the James C. Wilson University Union. The events are free and open to the public.

The keynote speaker for the event is James Van Nostrand, who is director of the Center for Energy and Sustainable Development and associate professor of law at West Viginia University. He will speak on “New Clean Air Standards and Sustainable Development in West Virginia.”

The address will include a panel discussion featuring West Virginia State University faculty members.
